After months of trying… finally, a stable Straight Edge
Posted by dindin in Pole Practice, tags: practise, straight edgeI had been trying to do a proper straight edge for months… all I managed to do was 0.5-1 sec, and opps, fell (or legs being “peeled” off like an orange)… anyway, after having a lesson with Mariana Baum from Pole Dance Paris, I finally managed to do this pose! I absolutely have no idea on how this could happen, cos my instructor, Symone, gave us(me) soooo many advices and tips but I still failed to.
I think it might be because of the fact that Mariana is of the same height as me (Symone is T-A-L-L) and so she knows how this tiny body works…
Anyway, she gave me a few tips:
- practise on advanced butterfly
- make sure you can get the advanced aysia first
- find the balance point, and don’t hurry into the pose
- do one leg at a time
- use your abdominal muscle! keep your body straight!
- Tighten your butt and the whole body!
That’s all! Hope these tips help
