New Club with Pole in Hong Kong – the Play Club!
Posted by dindin in Places where you can dance!, tags: club, clubs, lan kwai fong, LKF, poleWent to the Play Club in Lan Kwai Fong yesterday, it has a pole right in the middle of the dance floor, making it alot more “suitable” for pole dancing, however, the diameter of its pole is 38mm, i.e. super small pole(and not very stable too). It is made of titanium so it’s a bit slippery, but spinning on it is fun! *You’ve got alot more spins*.
So there are a number of clubs in HK with pole(s) installed now:
HK Island:
- The Priory (75-77 Wyndham Street, Hong Kong, phone: 2522 2628) – It has the longest pole so far. Our favourite place for pole parties. Pole is of 55mm diameter.
- Soda (G/F, 5 Minden Avenue, Phone: 27390338) – Very short pole indeed, heard it’s closed down.
- M1NT (108 Hollywood Road, Hong Kong) – It has podium pole, i.e. not permenantly fixed one
- Evisu Bar (2/F, 43 Lyndhurst Terrace) – the pole is situated on a slightly elevated platform, however it is very close to the DJ booth, there’s only about 2 feet distance in between them.
- Homebase (LG/F, 17-19 Hollywood Road) – The pole is on a small stage of calf height, not very suitable for proper pole dancing. The place is nice though, it’s closed down now.
- Zinc Bar – (35 D’Aguilar Street, Lan Kwai Fong) – The 45mm pole is installed on a very high stage, making it very dangerous to dance to (provided the “stage” is only of 1-1.5 feet diameter)
- Laguna – It is situated in Wan Chai, been there once, and will never go there again. It has 2 pole though.
- The Play Club (California Tower, 32 D’Aguilar Street, Lan Kwai Fong) – It has a 38mm stainless steel pole installed right in the middle of the dance floor. Nice environment but with confusion signs (or no signs at all: toilet signs missing, exit signs missing… even the indications for male or female toilet are missing)…. oh, confusion music too! It plays dance, then to pop, then to grunge, latino music … all mixed together in a weird way.
Tsim Sha Tsui:
- M1 – (80 Kimberley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui) – two poles installed on a stage, very Las Vagas style. It has regular pole dance performance every Friday and Saturday. Nice music.
- Club ZaZa (3/F, Toy House, 100 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui) – Never been there so can’t give any comment on this place :p
