Street Pole Dance!

As a pole dancing student, it is very difficult for me to resist the dark force to strike some pole poses on these street “poles” :p

These “poles” are indeed directional signs, which are part of the “Visitor Signage Improvement Scheme” implemented by the Hong Kong Tourism Commission.

There are mainly 3 types: Directional Sign, Mapboard and Idenification Sign. These visitor signage aimed to provide convenience for visitors while travelling around Hong Kong.

These photos are listed according to the dates they were taken:

I am extremely weak with my split grips… I tried bending my upper arm (left arm in my case); tried from the hand spring mount and cartwheel mount… etc etc, but all I could manage is an extended butterfly. This was extremely frustrating as the candle stick (or the split grip straight edge) is such a beautiful and powerful pose. After studying (yes, study) Jamila’s step-by-step and very detailed DVDs, I finally managed to do one….

I tried from normal inversion at first, in which I slowly release the outside leg followed by my inside leg after finding my balance point. I then tried from Cartwheel, in which I still have to do a little bit of tip-toeing on the pole before releasing both legs…. will work on that :-)

Been wanting to do this ever since I’ve got the aysia…. after getting loads of tips from various places, I finally managed to get it (or should I say, managed to find my balance point for this pose? :p)

Here’s a video:

Helene is leaving us, moving to New York….. I had a private lesson with her and I finally managed to do the knee hold. But it was soooooooooooo painful >.< Don’t think I will ever do that again as I have bad knees :p

I apologise for deleting my face here -looking toooo horrible!

This is a very pretty Scorpio, it shows strength and flexibility… simply beautiful

**update**

Realised this is NOT a scorpio, it is indeed a Brass Monkey variation…. it’s difficult to get into! Had a try and it looked horrible (I mean mine)

shoulder mount at the Expo

Went to the Asia World Expo Hong Kong for a car show and saw a nice little street lamp… couldn’t resist on doing some pole move there! Sorry that I showed my little belly there :p

You know, since it’s a car show, there are loads of weird guys over there, I had to wait for quite a while until nobody was there to see my stupid action! Anyway, it was fun :-D

Orestis, a Greek friend of mine, sent me a message on facebook saying that he saw my photo on a Greek blog (not geek :p) regarding Pole dancing in the Olympics… luckily the site is a proper one, otherwise I would have to take some actions as the author didn’t ask me for permission to use my pic :p

Went to Lamma Island on 7th October 2008. Saw quite a number of these tourists information signs along the hiking path linking Sok Koo Wan and Yung Shue Wan. Decided to do some pole tricks on them :p
