Street Pole Dance!

As a pole dancing student, it is very difficult for me to resist the dark force to strike some pole poses on these street “poles” :p

These “poles” are indeed directional signs, which are part of the “Visitor Signage Improvement Scheme” implemented by the Hong Kong Tourism Commission.

There are mainly 3 types: Directional Sign, Mapboard and Idenification Sign. These visitor signage aimed to provide convenience for visitors while travelling around Hong Kong.

These photos are listed according to the dates they were taken:

Many of you might have seen people doing pole dance in a “corset-look-alike” piece of clothing…. which is different from the real corset.

I wore a proper corset (i.e. with real lace tightening and boning) the other day to a house pole dance party… and, it was real hard to dance in one! I tightened it tooo hard (being too greedy in wanting to have a small waist, lol)… anyway, it was very hard to do inversion in it as you basically couldn’t move your waist at all!

Anyway, it was fun :p

Recorded this video in a private Pole and Champagne party at my place last year in june (2008.06.07). I was quite drunk and decided to play with my Darth Vader helmet and his lightsaber.

It was quite a stupid idea – the helmet kinda fell off and blocked my vision when I went inverted – doing a superman from Germini was the only way I know at that time… If I have to repeat this again, I would definitely do a shoulder mount – superman.

Went to Lamma Island on 7th October 2008. Saw quite a number of these tourists information signs along the hiking path linking Sok Koo Wan and Yung Shue Wan. Decided to do some pole tricks on them :p

Starting from 4th September, Tribeca, a club in the Harbour View Hotel Wanchai, will be hosting a new ladies night called “Pole Friction”. I’m not doing any advertisement here but my classmates from Pole Divas HK are performing, and it is always nice to have another club with pole installed :-)

To celebrate the launch of \”Pole Friction\”, the new Tribeca ladies night, Pole Divas HK\’s instructor – Symone is performing tonight at the club. She will be performing from 12 midnight to 2am.

Free entry and free drinks for all ladies, and for men, an entry fee of $160 is required (one drinks included). Sorry guys!

For more information please refer to the e-flyer. Girls (or guys?) with the best pole pose will receive a bottle of Absolute Vodka :-)

A friend sent me this…

From Yahoo news:
SANTIAGO (Reuters) – A stripper who danced on the poles of Santiago subway trains to challenge the prudishness of Chilean society was arrested on Thursday during one of her lightning performances. -continue reading on yahoo.

Her reason behind in doing such act was to challenge the Chilean society, claiming that it is too timid. This remind me of Hong Kong, which CLAIMS herself as being an “International City” but the general populations here are soooo NOT open-minded, especially towards belly dancing and pole dancing. I do understand there are indeed loads of pole dancers are strippers/exotic dancers, but can’t they accept the fact that there are a gaining number of ladies doing pole/belly dance as exercises?

Be frank, I think the reason for her arrest is that she was wearing soooo little clothings. I bet if she wore something like a pair of hot shorts then she’d be alright? (i guess? Cos I don’t know much about the Chilean law?)

Got my shoulder mount last Friday (finally! It took me like 4 months to do it… cos it was tooo painful and I kept on giving up :p)… have had horrible muscle pain on my right shoulder for like a week and I decided to give it a go today (yes, it was the first time I did shoulder mount ever since I’ve got it…)

Anyway, thought it would be fun/nice to do a superman from shoulder mount, and here’s the result. It was done in quite an ugly + funny way… but hey, it was my first… gonna practise more :)

Also did a shoulder mount -> inverted thigh hold -> superman… but donno why my stupid cam didn’t record it >.<
